Mosaic and Barcino Designs
All the Barcino Designs creations have a common denominator: the mosaic. It is the starting point of all the patterns. But which is the origin of this technique? The mosaic it has been used as a decorative and craft technique since Byzantine times, but the main and closest inspiration is modernism.
Modernism is an artistic movement developed at the end of the 19th century that stands for renovation, embellishment and nature’s inspiration. It was born as a response to the cold industrial designs though rounded silhouettes, harmonic figures, striking colors, and handmade techniques.
The application of the unique mosaic technique has in the architect Antoni Gaudí its greatest exponent.
